Dr. Matthew Hein-Dentist
Dr. Hein started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2010.
Matt is a one of a kind type of guy. He is in an office with ten women (one being his wife) and he is loved by each and every one of them. Not every man can keep ten women happy but he does it all while making his patients smile and helping them become as healthy as possible. Matt loves talking about hunting while his patient's mouths are open so he can't be interrupted. The assistants almost have broken him of his painful habit of singing along to the radio but he is still allowed to wear any pair of crazy socks he wants. He consumes more sugar than the average person but he also brushes his teeth longer and more often than most, so he calls that a win. He knew he wanted to be a dentist ever since he was in middle school and I think that we can all agree that we are so glad that he followed his dream!

Dr. Mackenzie Kortz-Dentist
Mackenzie grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado and in 2025 moved to Buffalo from Kansas City so she is experiencing the small town life for the first time! She has been pleasantly surprised to see patients outside of the office but she has been unsure how to act so make sure if you see her, say "HI". As you get to know Mackenzie you will learn that she loves dogs, plants, and her family; so much so that she keeps adding more of each of these loves to her life. She has two dogs, one baby (John), and over 60 houseplants! If you ever want to do something nice for her after she has treated you well in the chair instead of bringing her a houseplant maybe vanilla latte or M&Ms, she likes those too.

Texie Baker- RDH
Texie started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2000.
Texie is a busy mom to four and an amazing friend to many. Texie is always busy helping others in her community and her giving spirit can be seen in her work at our office. She is loved by her patients and she knows not only about their oral health but usually about their most recent vacation and newest addition to their family or their favorite food. She loves to learn about her patients and use her knowledge to treat them to the best of her ability. She is this way at the office and in her daily life outside of work as well. Our office, and the world are better places because Texie is a part of it.

Peyton Smith- RDH and Dental Assistant
Peyton started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2019.
Peyton is just all around awesome. She has the best giggle and her personality is a perfect match for our office. Peyton loves the outdoors and she has some great hunting stories she likes to tell. Ask her about hunting on Dr. Hein's property some time, thats a story that should have a section of its own. As mentioned before, Peyton's personality is perfect and because of that she fills so many roles in our office. You can find her assisting Matt, answering phones, working in the lab or being a hygienist, or even over watering the plants, she does it all and if you are lucky you will get to be in her chair in the future.

Sophia Timm- RDH
Sophia started with us in 2025. She came to us from the Sheridan hygiene program highly recommended from the instructors there. One thing the instructors didn't tell us is how much she dislikes downtime, she likes to stay busy! When asked what her favorite thing about Buffalo Dental is you'd think she would say the patients or the work because of how much she enjoys to keep her schedule full but instead she wrote "the snacks". That is the thing about Sophia, you never know what she is going to say, she is witty and likes to joke around. I guess you could say she fits in perfect here.

Bonnie-Dental Assistant
Bonnie started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2006.
Bonnie says her hero is her grandmother and I think she may be fulfilling that same legacy to her numerous grandchildren (adopted, step, foster, biological, she claims and loves them all). Bonnie loves to laugh and she loves to help make other's lives easier. She makes all of our lives at Buffalo Dental Clinic easier because she usually knows what we need before we do. That might be an xray for patients, a dental instrument during a procedure, an order that needs placed, or even a patient's name that is walking in the door. Bonnie states she loves her job and we believe that is what makes her so great at it.

Annaliese Baker-Dental Assistant
Annaliese joined Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2025.
Annaliese has had many changes in her life recently. She started a new job (with us), got married, moved to a new home/community, and is having a baby. She used the word "adaptable" to describe herself and she is 100% correct. You would never know Annaliese has had so many changes recently because anyone that has been in with her as an assistant would never guess she is new to the dental field or has experienced these huge life changes. She keeps her cool in all situations and seems like she has been doing it all for years. She even says she thinks she can smell cavities ;). I'd say she was made for this job!

Ayleen Meriam-Dental Assistant
Ayleen joined Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2025 (can we say big year of change at BDC). Ayleen says her hero is anyone who brings her donuts or coffee. There is a fresh pot brewed every morning when she arrives at work, do you think that counts? We hope so because we love having Ayleen at Buffalo Dental Clinic she has been a great addition to the team. It was a long time coming, Ayleen has been a patient at Buffalo Dental Clinic since she was little and Matt has been telling her that she should work at Buffalo Dental for many many years. If he had only known that the secret was donuts and coffe. But now she isn't only a patient but she is also is on the other side of the mask as well and all her patients and coworkers get to reap the benefits.

Lauren Rives-Front Desk Coordinator
Lauren started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2025
And we are so glad she did! Lauren came to Buffalo Dental Clinic at a time when the front office was in need of extra help due to address/insurance issues related to the move and Lauren was up for the task. Lauren is a perfect fit for the office with her wittiness and love of laughter. She says her favorite thing about Buffalo Dental Clinic is "Kristen" so she is obviously super smart. But she also says the first thing she would do if she wins the lottery is quit her job so no lottery tickets for Lauren!

Laura Anderson-Front Office
Laura rejoined Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2024
Laura first worked for Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2014, she left for other careers but we tricked her into joining our team again. Four years away and new dental software and you wouldn't even know Laura was ever gone! Laura's favorite thing about working for Buffalo Dental is making enough money to take time off to go on vacations. She loves to travel and when she isn't traveling she is figuring out a way to go on her next adventure. We are glad we fooled her into coming back to Buffalo Dental Clinic and we know our patients are glad to see her smiling face at the front again too.

Kristen Hein- Office Manager
Kristen started at Buffalo Dental Clinic in 2010.
Kristen has an ease of writing other's biographies but not of her own. She loves her job and the flexibility it brings to her life. Giving her the chance to raise her daughters and volunteer in the community. She actually hates all things teeth, spit, mouth, tongue, slobber and enjoys hiding in her office and not talking to the other staff about the ins and outs of their day dealing with teeth. Texie, Peyton, Bonnie, Lauren, Sophia, Annalies, Ayleen, Mackenzie and Laura are all more than "staff" to her but people whose hearts she sees daily and knows that they are what makes Buffalo Dental Clinic amazing along with the talents of Dr. Hein and the grace of God. She couldn't be more proud of the commitment to do good of the office and the integrity of the staff at Buffalo Dental Clinic.
